Adding fuel to the fire - women in business data

Yesterday's Women in Business gala was just the kind of night I needed - meeting up with a bunch of super cool ladies at Greta's for dinner, before enjoying a night with the spotlight on female led businesses.
But the gala also rallied me up. Especially since people on stage spat some cold hard FACTS. And nothing is more important than that, if we're going to get all aboard the hype train about a more equal industry. Sadly 🤷♀️
Malin Malmström talked about her research on stereotypes within the VC industry, called "VC Stereotypes About Men And Women Aren't Supported by Performance Data". Her research shows that, super short summarised;
a) the businesses reviewed weren't performing better with a male founder than a female
b) the stereotypes within the VCs are the ones that has an impact on how the company is reviewed, see below 👇

I was also BLOWN away by the power delivery by Ida Östensson, that women loose 3 months every year due to invisible work - at home and at work. What does that mean for women's careers and our resilience? And NO, the solution isn't about teaching women to say "no".
All in all: It was a fantastic evening, I met so many cool people I look up to, and the winners were so so so deserving 💖

I especially found myself thinking a lot about...
👉 Why I've been so focused on female networks instead of male ones
👉 It's worth every minute to attend events like this
👉 Why I haven't been looking more at the "green list" by AllBright, but rather the "red list"
👉 You won't find your business idea in the shower
👉 Surround yourself with people that want to be your hypeperson as much as you want to be theirs
